I turned thirty yesterday, and have to say, I’m really excited for this new decade of life.
HELLO, PARIS
To celebrate, my mother and I spent this past weekend in Paris, for a mother-daughter joint birthday trip. With my mother turning fifty-five in February, and my thirtieth in March, we knew we had to do something BIG this winter to celebrate. Paris seemed to be an excellent destination to drink all the champagne and eat all the cheese.Paris has been on my list for ages, and I’m beyond thrilled I got to visit for my 30th birthday. We ate crepes and drank coffee on a bench while looking at the Eiffel Tower. I finally got to visit The Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, Arc de Triomphe, Norte Dame, and everything in between. We took a cooking class in the Latin Quarter (a huge highlight!), and drank our body weight in champagne. I loved everything about Paris, and totally understand why it seems to be everyones favorite city.
Our weekend was truly magical and I couldn’t be happier. These are some of my favorite shots, in no particular order, from the weekend (though, nearly impossible to narrow down the 225+ photos taken over a long weekend).
COOKING CLASS at Le Foodist
If you’re into food (who isn’t?) and interested in cooking classes, we couldn’t give you a better recommendation than Le Foodist! They were fantastic. We learned how to make 6 different dishes that were EXCELLENT! We had so much fun and our chef was a blast.
At thirty, I’m starting to see deeper lines around my eyes, a few strays of gray hair, the thought of staying out past 11pm horrifies me, I have bursitis in my left hip and arthritis on my right foot (the hip and the foot balance each other out, I suppose), and I can’t drink more than 2 glasses of [fill in the blank] without obtaining a headache. And you know what? A lot of people don’t get the opportunity to grow older. Growing older is a beautiful thing, there’s no way I’m going to deny it, or fight it. I’m thrilled to enter into my thirties, I seriously cannot wait to see what unfolds for me in this forth decade of life.
