I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t go anywhere without seeing #GIRLBOSS. One of my girlfriends kept recommending this, claiming this book was an absolute must read, so I figured I would pull the trigger. This book is written by Sophia Amoruso, the CEO of Nasty Gal, a mega online fashion retailer, who started off as a solo operation on eBay 7 years ago. Sophia tells her story, and shares some very wise wisdom along the way.

What was so great about the book, and why you should read it!
I thought it was really captivating to read about the very early stages of Nasty Gal, especially when it became apparent Nasty Gal was destined to be larger than just a clothing shop on eBay. She has chapters on positive thinking, treating your hard earned cash like gold, and dreaming big. Other chapters were about staying true and authentic to who you are (even if that doesn’t fit the mold of what you think it should look like), and honing-in on your creativity. There are dozens of inspiring little nuggets of advice like this throughout the book.
In between chapters there are short essays from other successful women (re: other #GIRLBOSS(es)). The biggest take away, for me, was to work as hard as you can, never half-ass, and even if you don’t love every aspect of your current job, current task at hand, current project, etc., pretend like you do, and try to have fun at it. Believe and know you are destined for greatness.
I think her honest, no BS advice is useful to all women. I found her core basic principles very motivating and practical. I definitely feel it is worth the 3 hours it will take you from cover to cover (perfect airplane book)!
