Allthingsfall this week, huh? Fall manicures, fall wardrobe capsules, and the list of fall activities. And now, I present to you the list of books I’m dying to read this season. And this will be my last fall related post, I promise! But hey, at least I don’t write about football season, pumpkin spiced lattes, or salted caramel, thank you very much.
But what I will always, always write about is my seasonal reading list. Books I’m dying to read, books I’ve read and loved for the season, and books you should stay clear of (for no particular season).
I always ensure to keep a running list of books I want to read for the upcoming season. So I’m here today, on this glorious Sunday to share with you what’s coming down (or up?) my Reading Pipeline.
ELIGIBLE BY CURTIS SITTENFELD
Huge win that the library had this in stock and not on a 348 month hold. I’ve been told that it’s basically a twenty-first century remake of Pride and Prejudice. Which only reminds me that I really should read that first (Alex’s parents keep recommending it!), but since I had to snag this while it was available at the library, I’m going to go ahead and read this one first.
THE WOMAN IN CABIN 10 BY RUTH WARE
Can’t go anywhere without reading / seeing hype for Ruth Ware, and there’s good reason for it. Her writing is addicting as anything! I just cracked open (pun intended) In a Dark, Dark Wood and can’t put it down. So much in fact, that I knew her latest book, The Woman in Cabin 10 would have to be added to this list.
INSIDE THE O’BRIENS BY LISA GENOVA
Lisa Genova is the author of Still Alice. Which was recently released as a movie. I remember reading Still Alice back in college, and how much I enjoyed her writing. Still Alice was about the destructive power of Alzheimer’s disease, where as Inside the O’Briens is about the terrible impacts of Huntington’s disease. Not only on the individual but more tragically, on the family.
THE COUPLE NEXT DOOR BY SHARI LAPENA
I’ve been seeing a lot of hype about this book. I hear it’s fast paced, gripping, and utterly compulsive. Fingers crossed it’ll be as wonderful as the reviews make it out to be.
TRULY MADLY GUILTY BY LIANE MORIARTY
You know I’m a huge Liane Moriarty fan. I LOVE her books. Truly Madly Guilty was released this July, and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get my hands on it. PSA: if you haven’t read The Husbands Secret, or Big Little Lies, or What Alice Forgot go do so right now so you will be prepared for the magic that is Liane Moriarty.
A MAN CALLED OVE BY FREDRIK BACKMAN
Nearly 6,000 five-star amazon reviews. A friend of mine recently read this, and added another five-stars to the books already glowing reviews. So I picked it up, and figured it would make a great addition to my fall list. I’m reading listening to it via Audible, and actually almost through. Review to come soon!
What are some novels that you’re prepared to read this fall? You know, curled up in a thick sweater, sipping a PSL?
