I usually don’t post on the weekends, but April was a really fantastic month for us. Alex and I stayed busy with the wedding planning for sure, but also, our joint calendar was filled to the brim with social events. We tried several new restaurants, saw a fantastic play, went to multiple improv shows, birthday celebrations, caught up with old friends, made some new ones, took advantage of the spring weather with a hike or two, had a few date nights, and visited my family in Florida. So many wonderful things!
Which was quite a nice change from how things went last month. March, in its entirety seemed to be a terrible, awful, no good, very bad day month. And because of how March went, I feel overwhelmed with gratitude for how seamlessly well life seemed pass by in April. So much in fact, that I feel compelled to post just one more time in April.
Wanting: Bio Ionic Style Dryer, I borrowed my mothers when we were in FL, and OMG it’s like hair magic
Reading: Wild by Cheryl Strayed, Naked by David Sedaris, Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter, and The Creative Habit by Twyla Tharp
Watching: I just finished binge watching Togetherness (SO upset it got cancelled) and Girls
Listening: This American Life that I missed, Alex and I are taking a small road trip next weekend, it’ll be the perfect time to catch up on all the episodes we’ve missed
Hoping: I finish all four of the books I’m halfway through before June 01 rolls around
Waiting: For the basil seeds I just planted to start growing
Getting: Toned! Specifically focusing on my arms. Come on BBG, work your magic!
Wishing: That I could sleep for 72 solid hours, waking up totally, 100% refreshed
Working: On the blog, the wedding, the BBG, and my 9-5 (what I actually get paid to do!)
Dreaming: Walking down the aisle, holding the most beautiful, pinterest worthy bouquet, heading towards Alex
Munching: Beets! I can’t get enough
Sipping: Coffee. So much coffee, always
Finishing: That bottle of red wine that’s been on our kitchen counter for the past two weeks (yikes)
Planning: Our summer travel
Saving: As much money as I possibly can for our upcoming wedding (224 days to go!) and for our soon-to-be purchased home
Looking: At our new betta fish, he’s so pretty
Wearing: My new rain boots, nearly everyday this week due to the never ending rain
Buying: A few new shift dresses because, well, spring is here (kind of, it’s still freezing!)
Refusing: To go to anymore open houses, though this is an empty threat. It needs to get done. It’s just exhausting, so the idea of refusing to go is so appealing
Organizing: Tons of paperwork that I’ve been avoiding for a while
Loving: Our brand new Crate and Barrel drinking glasses, they were our very first wedding gift from our registry (thank you C&S!!!)
Bookmarking: 12 Kinds of Kindness — looks like a really neat idea!
One of the best parts (other than seeing my family) was getting to explore the Morikami Japanese Gardens. There is something so raw and peaceful about being submerged into nature and all of it’s beauty. Just look at this place!
Alex and I are now seriously considering Japan is as a potential honeymoon destination. Is it bananas that we still don’t know if we’re going on a honeymoon straight after the wedding? Or even where we’d like to go?
