New season = new round of books to read. For Spring 2017, I’ve pooled together a list that’s composed of old recommendations that I’ve been meaning to get around to and fiction novels that I’ve been eyeballing for the past few months. When they say fiction is an addiction, they’re not lying.
ANYWAY, my Spring 2017 list may be pretty aggressive, even for me. But as temperatures warm up, my absolute favorite thing to do is to plop down on our patio with a cold beer in one hand and a book in the other. Between audible, the library, and Amazon, I’m sure this list is somewhat doable. And I want to know, what’s on your reading list this spring? Here’s what I’m looking to get through…
THE SPRING 2017 READING LIST
Pull Me Under by Kelly Luce
This was another BOTM that intrigued me, though I ended up selecting another book for whatever month this was recommended in. BUT, I just got my hands on it this week, and only three chapters in, I can tell I’m going to love it. The writing is really beautiful, and it’s quite mesmerizing.
All The Missing Girls by Megan Miranda
This is actually rolling over from my Winter 2017 Reading List. And it’s not my fault! I’ve been patiently waiting on the library’s list for months. A part of me may end up buying it, because all the reviews I’m reading are the bomb dot com BUT I don’t want to psyche myself up for another disappointment…(cough, What She Knew)
Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
Before I was even halfway through Commonwealth, I knew Ann Patchett would be a writer I’d further dive into. I still have a hangover from Patchetts writing in Commonwealth. Bel Canto is one of her very well known novels, and I truly can’t wait to read it.
Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay
This was a recommendation someone gave me way back in 2014, after I sheepishly admitted how much I love WWII novels. Fast forward to January 2017 — While browsing the coolest bookstore ever in downtown Los Angeles, I saw Sarah’s Key sitting in the $2.00 bin, and knew I’d have to grab it. So I did.
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
I think everyone I’ve ever spoken to (who’s an active reader) has recommended this to me. So, I’m doing it. For real this time. I’m sure I’m like the last person on the planet (who’s an active reader) to read this book. Oh well.
Daring Greatly by Brene Brown
You’re right! This is another roll-over book from a previous reading list. I did finish Brene Brown’s Rising Strong over the summer, and knew I’d have to read this too. I fell in love with Brown while watching her TED Talk, and suggest you take a break and watch it too. You can find it here.
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles
This is another BOTM book that has been catching my eye. With so many glowing reviews, I think I’m ready to read it. Though, for whatever reason, I feel like this would suit me better as an audiobook?
Mastery by Robert Greene
This was a recommendation from a friend. As soon as she learned I was starting up my own business, she told me I had to read this. The library just pinged me, announcing that it’s ready for pick-up. So here I go!
