Our trip to Tucson this past February had one main purpose. Our parents wanted to throw us a second reception to celebrate our marriage. And of course, as a bonus, Alex and I wanted to attend the Gem and Mineral Show that comes to Tucson every February. That particular Saturday, the evening of the party, vendors were in and out all day long. Alex and I decided we’d get out of everyones hair and kill a few hours out of the house.
Walking through a garden is probably my favorite way to spend an afternoon. My husband, who knows that, drove us straight to the Tucson Botanical Gardens. We had the best time, nature is so incredible, it blows my mind every time.
THE FRIDA KAHLO EXHIBIT
TBG was holding a Frida Kahlo exhibit. The vibrant colors were so beautiful and special. It gave me serious gardeners envy. I decided — right then and there — that my spring / summer household project would be to revamp our backyard. You know, to create a mini version of this in our very own backyard…
THE BUTTERFLY GARDEN
You KNOW we just had to spend 30+ minutes in their Butterfly Garden. I mean, who would we be if we didn’t? The last time we were in a Butterfly Garden was the day we got engaged. It felt very full circle, to walk through a butterfly garden with Alex.
It was such a pretty and peaceful day. I believe I’ve found my new favorite spot in Tucson… We fly out to St. Louis tonight for a mini family reunion. I believe the agenda includes a baseball game and a trip to the St. Louise Botanical Gardens!
Have a great weekend. xx
