I have a never ending list of books to read, and with how little time I seem to have these days (we’re knee deep in home renovation quotes, workworkworkworkwork, and #wifelife), it feels nearly impossible to get around to crossing all the books off my list. I was seriously convinced I’d have so much free time now that we’re done with wedding planning. Oh how wrong I was! Anyway, here’s what’s on the reading rotation…
WINTER 2017 READING LIST
The Vegetarian by Han Kang. I found this on a ‘take a book, leave a book shelf’ a few days ago. And since it’s less than 200 pages, the winner of the Man Booker International Prize, I moved this up to the #1 spot. PUMPED to read it, it seems dark and like a really powerful read.
Missing, Presumed by Susie Steiner. I don’t know much about this other than it’s supposed to be very suspenseful, and was recommended by many of my fellow blogger friends. So it’s added!
The Fall Guy by James Lasdun. I first got wind of this while browsing through past BOTM selections. The plot really intrigued me, mainly because a majority of the narrative contains the inner most thoughts of the characters — which I always find highly entertaining. I love diving deep into who I’m reading about. I feel like it’s a way to truly understand them, inside and out.
The Mothers by Brit Bennett. Anything about the complexity of a mother / daughter relationship. The choices we make, the consequences that results in said choices. Yes. Take me there!
What She Knew by Gilly Macmillian. Not expecting too much from this, but it’s supposed to be a quick, suspenseful read. Goal for 2017 is 60 books, so anything that I can burn through within a few days is a must!
All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda. OK, they’re comparing this with The Girl on the Train and Luckiest Girl Alive. My interest has been peaked. Enough said?
And that concludes my Winter 2017 Reading List. I know it’s 100% murder, missing person, tragedy, psychological thriller, but hey! It’s what I live for. What’s on your reading list this Winter?
