Spring is always so warmly welcomed, especially here in DC. The cherry blossoms have popped, and it’s a friendly reminder that we’ve survived yet another winter. It’s also the perfect time to start playing around with more inviting and delightful nail polish choices (yay)! We finally get to break away from deep crimsons, charcoal grays, and inky noir shades that we’ve been slaves to since late October. Spring of 2016 is all about soft pastel shades (with a few fun ones like royal blue and yellow thrown in there!), and today, I’m here to share eight of my favorite colors with you, dear readers!
These are the 8 must have shades this spring, which will pretty much be on rotation for the next few weeks. Of course seven of the eight are Essie, eventually one of these days I’ll branch out into a new brand, but for now, here we go:
Posh Lilac // Go Ginza
A classic, feminine, and subtle shade of lilac. You can’t go wrong. It’s very soft, and with three thin coats, it leaves a silky, velvety finish.
Mellow Yellow // Loop the Loop
Yellow nails are back! They were in for a bit in 2012, and then out, and now they’re here! And I’m so pumped, because I’ve been hoarding this perfect little Ciaté for months, just waiting, waiting, waiting for spring to arrive.
Milky Pink // Muchi, Muchi
This has been one of my top choices for quite sometime, so I’m excited to finally share it with you! It’s also featured here. I usually wear it in the winter as well.
Stark White // Blanc
I absolutely love a crisp white shade. It also makes for a really nice winter white shade too, just FYI. But for now, yes, yes, yes to white nails!
Rosy Nude // Mademoiselle
This color actually won the ‘2014 Best in Weddings’ color for Martha Stewart weddings. If Martha approves, I approve. It’s pretty sheer, I’m always tempted to add a fourth coat, but I know that’s a bit too much. What do you think, too sheer?
Mint Candy // Mint Candy Apple
I love a good mint! And this shade really takes the cake on it, such a gorgeous shade. I want to wear it all of this spring, but with the other seven choices, I know I’ll have to make some room.
Dusty Blue // Bikini So Teeny
A really pretty light blue that I feel can be worn all through the very end of summer. In Essie’s own words, ‘this sparkling nail polish bares it all with a wink and a smile and no strings attached’ (fun!)
Royal Blue // Butler Please
Total compliment magnet, mainly due to it’s boldness. Seriously, try it. You will be blown away by how many people comment on it.
Alright, so there you have it. Spring must have polish hues, featuring some of my favorites. Which ones do you like the best? Are there any additional colors / shades / variations I’m missing?
