Achieving true mindfulness has been a long time goal of mine. And by long time, think years. However, staying alert and present in the moment is no easy feat, as it can feel nearly impossible. I’m constantly running through a laundry list of to-do’s during a work meeting, or checking my emails while walking to get my daily afternoon coffee, or thinking about what I want to make for dinner instead of absorbing the words in my current novel.
Good news though! After completing 30 full days of meditation, I made the firm decision to stick with it. I’ve learned wonderful tools and tips that help get me to partial mindfulness. [Key word: partial] So, I began a search for an additional something that would help foster and nourish my relationship with mindfulness. And that’s when I finally came across Buddha Board.
Buddha Board is a fantastic product that allows you to completely zen out [pun], and paint. Using only a brush and water, vivid drawings appear on the boards surface. Your beautiful design will begin to evaporate in as little as 30 seconds, and be completely gone within minutes. Of course, this depends on how much water / pressure you use.
The Buddha Board encourages you to master the art of letting go, which is a beautiful thing
I love the simplicity of this tool. There’s really nothing more to it than the board, the brush, and a stand that acts as a water dish. Which equates to virtually zero clean up — heck yeah!
I’ve been having the best time with my Buddha Board. In a simple, albeit elementary way, using the Buddha Board teaches you to — in the words of Elsa — ‘LET IT GO.’ Mistakes will happen, and it’s OK! Because guess what? The only moment that matters in life is the present.
It’s also a superb creative outlet. What’s something that helps you with practicing mindfulness?
