I know that striving to Have a Fabulous, Wonderful, Glorious Day {every single day} is near impossible. With that said, I do believe in creating a solid foundation to set yourself up for success each and every day. That way, when things don’t quite go as planned, at least you have these ten positive items to fall back on:
1. Prepare for the Day
Prior to leaving the house, make your bed, tidy up your bedroom, living room, and kitchen, and don’t forget to eat breakfast! Grab a snack (or your lunch), and anything necessary you may need for the day.
2. Manage Time
Structuring and outlining your day — in the morning — will make a huge difference. I find myself creating manageable lists for daily and weekly goals. Breaking things down in small chunks can really help put any anxiety at bay.
3. Enjoy the Little Things
For me, that’s my morning coffee. Listening to an audiobook on my way to work, or picking up a fresh bouquet from the farmers market.
4. Move Often
Ensure to hit those 10,000 steps, a healthy body is a healthy mind.
5. Laugh
You know what they say, ‘a day without laughter is a day wasted…’
6. Enjoy Nature
OK, currently it’s blisteringly hot outside. But take a quick 5 minutes from the daily grind to sit or walk among the Great Outdoors. And hey, it’ll add to your 10,000 a day step count!
7. Mediate
I didn’t start morning meditations until earlier this year. Though, I have to say, adding a quick ten minute meditation ses into my morning routine has made a huge impact. Now, my days feel a bit off I skip morning meditations.
8. Breathe Deeply
This ties in nicely with No. 7 above. Many times, we forget to {b r e a t h e} throughout the day. An unpleasant email came in? {b r e a t h e} Stuck in horrible traffic? {b r e a t h e} Looking at your daunting to-do list? {b r e a t h e} Even when things are going perfectly fine, remember to {b r e a t h e}
9. Keep a Gratitude Journal
Gratitude is everything. Keep a journal. Jot down three positive things about your day or things you’re grateful for, everyday. It can be as simple as: I woke up today, I have the ability to walk, there was food in my fridge for breakfast. How easy is that?
10. Good Nights Sleep
Oh man, I can’t stress this enough, how much I crave my 10pm bedtime, it seriously makes all the difference (for tomorrow, of course!)
What are some daily steps you take to ensure you have a fabulous, wonderful, glorious day?
