With 73 days left to go until the wedding, I’ve decided I can’t afford to be lazy in the mornings anymore. I want to ensure I’m in the best shape humanely possible. Not only physically, but mentally as well.
I’ve stepped up my morning game. I’ve tweaked my morning routine a bit to incorporate some old, some new (some borrowed and some blue — kidding!) habits that will get me there.
Currently, here is what Monday – Friday morning looks like:
SWEATING
Alarm is set for 7:00am. I roll out of bed, grabbing my sports bra, tank, shorts, and a pair of socks that are already laid out, waiting for me. I walk downstairs to the kitchen, fill up a 25 oz water bottle, and walk down another flight of stairs to the basement. Lights on, boot up my JBL speakers and Pandora. I lace up with my sneakers that are waiting for me next to the BBG binder, and a yoga mat.
I begin whatever day I’m on. Finish in just about 28 minutes (35 minutes, if I procrastinate).
VITAMINS (AND COFFEE, ALWAYS COFFEE)
Walk back up stairs, refill my water bottle, make a cup of coffee. While I’m cooling down, and waiting for my single cup to brew I grab my vitamins. Currently, I’m taking vitamin C, fish oil, and hair growth vitamins. You know, for my immune system, brainfood, and strong nails, healthy hair, and clear skin. Having long, strong, thick hair for the wedding day is key!
BREAKFAST + DAILY TO-DO’S
I then make a quick breakfast for myself. And then feed our betta fish as well. As I’m sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast (no longer sweating), I check my email and write out my daily schedule while I finish my coffee. Which also includes a morning brain dump.
MEDITATION
I go back upstairs, slap on an upper and a lower treatment of teeth whitening strips (for the 45,989 photos come the wedding weekend). Next, I boot up my Headspace app for a 10 minute meditation session. By the time this is all said and done, it’s just past 8:15am.
SHOWER + MAKEUP + CLOTHES
I pop into the shower, with a high chance it’s not a hair washing day — which saves an enormous amount of time! I quickly apply my makeup, and then proceed to get dressed. And I’m ready to start the day!
