Valentines Day is just around the corner, dear readers! I’ve pooled together a few of my favorite Essie shades that fit the bill for a romantic candlelit dinner, or a movie-night cuddled on the couch, or Gal-entines with your lady friends! Whatever your Vday brings, I’ve got your nail polish color covered…
Starting with the Pinks / Purples:
Sidebar: Huge thank you to Alex, for running out to Whole Foods — last minute — to pick up these roses, specifically for this post! Not pictured, the red roses nor the orange gerber daisies.
1. Big Spender is a great shade. It’s darker than your typical go-to pink when you think Valentines. It’s professional enough to wear in the office, and the rich magenta tone is just so strong and feminine.
2. The Girls are Out is a color I’ve had for years. I rarely buy polish with sparkle in it, but in this particular formula, it’s so subtle. The fuchsia is such a lovely deep pink. How could you not? It’s girly, flirty, and pretty.
3. Play Date is a great pastel shade of purple. I’ve posted about it before (because I love, love, love it), and knew it had to make this list, because it’s just so perfect, and well, playful! I don’t know if I’d wear it to the office, but it fits the bill for Vday shades, so on the list it stays!
And of course, the REDS:
The following reds can each be summed up in one word: classy, sexy, and fabulous (respectively)
1. Plumberry is a really sweet shade of berry. I bought this right before Thanksgiving, solely because of the name, and oh how fitting it would be! I think can work really well for a Valentines Day event, just look at that beautiful pink undertone!
2. Fishnet Stockings is quite the oldie, and a goodie! Very spicy and sassy, it’s your classic shade of red. Can’t go wrong. It’s the type of bombshell red that belongs with a LBD.
3. E-Nuf is E-Nuf is a great choice for a hot date night. It’s bold, bright, and extremely vibrant. It’s fabulous and elegant, both rolled up into one creamy coral.
PS. I wore it this past Fourth of July.
