I’ve never really understood why people gripe so hard about Mondays. Like, sure the weekend is over, and you have to get through another five full days before the next one, but guys. Mondays actually don’t suck. And I’m here to tell you why, and how to flip your perspective on the most hated day of the week.
Making the Most of a Monday!
I believe in the power of Monday. I think if you tailor your Monday in an efficient way, it paves the path for success for the rest of the week. Here is what I like to ensure happens each and every Monday.
Well, let’s back up for a hot second. You really need to start on Sunday, with tackling a few items and ensuring you get a goodnights sleep. But let’s pretend you’ve already checked those boxes. Moving on!
BRAIN DUMP
I like to start Monday mornings by taking a brain dump on a piece of notebook paper. This includes writing out everything and anything that you need to accomplish for the week. Goals, appointments, phone calls, emails, projects, things to buy. Even as small as remembering to text your aunt, or buying cotton balls. Get it all out on paper.
THE TOP THREE
Always have a Top Three for the week. It can be anything you really need to get done, or want to focus in on. Like finally finishing up wedding thank you cards (ugh I know!), or ensuring you drink enough water, or get in 10K steps per day. Or that huge project you’ve been putting off. Whatever your top three are… figure them out on Monday. That way you have the rest of the week to work on it.
WEEKLY OVERVIEW
Now, all of those important phone calls to make, emails to send, projects to follow up on, things to order, and a general to-do list items that you wrote out on your brain dump, then need to get sorted. Break them down into small categories so they don’t seem so overwhelming. Categories are exactly what they seem: to do, to call, to email, to buy, and general goals.
And that, my friends, is the key to having a super productive Monday: organization and planning! Wishing you all a happy Monday today, and can’t wait to hear how your week turns out!
I’d love to know, what do you do to ensure you have a smooth and productive week?
